This is a old saddle I bought on e-bay. I only wanted the top slide so I Cut up the saddle to make a vertical slide

Finished Top slide works a treat and cost me nothing!

4 inch bar of aluminum,parting off taken to extremes,Turning down to about an inch then finishing with a hacksaw. If you try to part off to a smaller diameter you risk braking you tool bit As the material is very heavy.

Myford suggest Nuto H32 oil for the main bearings. Nuto H32 is a hydraulic oil, its quite expensive buying it by the litre, Buying from a Heavy goods spare dept or a fork lift or farming dept will cost you a lot less abut £7 for 5 litres and £30 for 25.

This is a Cross feed Mod that i have done.It Eliminates any backlash between the cross slide and the leadscrew.
